Granddaddy Longlegs Spiders will make homes near the tops of ceilings but sometimes in bathroom sinks and low areas in a shower.
If the Longlegs is in a good place such as ceiling corner, do nothing. If you acknowledge that you see the spider it may respond by moving all of its legs in the usually very sparse web it’s built, but will not move out of place.
No, you don’t feed the spider. Do nothing except leave it alone. If you are going to allow the spider to stay, let others in the home or building know so they won’t disturb it.
If you don’t won’t the spider around you don’t have to kill it, unless you are just one of those people who like killing things.
You can carefully nudge it onto a paper plate and take it outside. If the weather is really cold a warm spot would help but otherwise the spider may not survive.
If the spider is in a place you need to use, gently move it to a higher position near the ceiling.
Don’t engage the spider, just let it be. Sometimes you may see their offspring, dozens scattered within the web.
The Granddaddy Longlegs is beneficial against some insects. If the spider is in an area un-disturbing to you, you could let it be.
